played by Sathyan and Sriman. Chinna Vandu falls in love with Vanaroja
[Nazriya Nazim], a BDS student, but afraid to reveal this to his parents
and apparently appoints her as employee in his shop. Here comes big
twist in Naiyaandi script, when parents of Chinna Vandu plan to kick
Vanaroja out of shop. What is the twist? How will Chinna Vandu disclose
his marriage issue to family? To know watch Naiyaandi in screens near
you…
Performances:
Dhanush is unbelievably sidelined in Naiyaandi. The national award winner has no scope to perform neither in the first half nor second.
Nazriya Nazim is a glam doll and grown a little performance wise, yet had to improve her expressions in songs.
Soori steal the show in first half of Naiyaandi, while Sathyan and Sriman did it in the second half of the film.
Supporting cast played by Saranya
Ponvannan, Vamsi Krishna, Satish, Lakshmi Ramakrishnan, Ashvin Raja,
Pyramid Natrajan, Sabari Ashok, Singampuli and Imman Annachi are at
their regular best.
Technical Analysis:
National award winner, director Sargunam
of Vaagai Sooda Vaa and Kalavani fame has disappointed with his
romantic comedy Naiyaandi. While script appears to be remake of
Malayalam superhit Meleparambil Aanveedu, Sargunam failed to engage
audiences with his screenplay.
Songs composed by M. Ghibran have
succeeded in topping charts and well filmed with huge camera works, but
placement is not so appropriate. ‘Teddy Bear’ and ‘Ae Le Le Etti
Paarthale’ tracks are good to watch on screen.
Velraj has shot every frame of Naiyaaandi to perfection, while editing by Raja Mohammed could have been crispier.
Analysis:
Dhanush and Nazriya looked superb on
screen, while Dhanush is truly wasted and has not many scenes to impose
his performance in real. It seems to be director Sargunam’s only motto
is to bring down audiences laughs, but in actual many of them even did
not smile.
Soori, Imman Anachi, Sriman and Sathya
steal the show with witty one-liners and comic acts. Songs and
cinematography are added positives of Naiyaandi.
Final Verdict:
Unexpected depiction from National Award Winners…
