A Lord Ganesh antique idol of value 10
crores from Padmanabhaswamy temple, Kerala gets stolen and transported
to AP. Through Surya (Nikhil), a pick pocketer along with his couple of
other friends the idol gets to Jeeva, a smuggling don. Meanwhile, Surya
robs Journalist Swathi (Colors Swathi) new Vespa scooty and when she
tries to identify it, he bluffs her and tries to impress. a goon Durga
Prasad (Ravi Babu), from a Nigerian batch also tries to get hold of
Ganesh idol by hook or crook and unknowingly, Swathi gets into the trap
and Surya to get hold of the same idol sorts out things and this forms
the crux.
Performances
Nikhil is energetic and
performed well. Unlike his earlier films he gives a restrained
performance which strikes chord and he improvised in the dialogue
delivery.
Swathi looked cute and she delivers a neat performance. The lead pairs chemistry is a good watch.
Pooja Ramachandran is
impressive. Ravi Babu, Jeeva suited their roles, Jogi Brothers shines in
the initial scenes. Bhanu Avirineni cameo is quite good.
Technical Analysis
Musical scores by Sunny are ear-pleasing
and refreshing while the background score is too good. Music composer
Sunny proves that he is here to stay. Richard Prasad’s camera work is on
top-class. Screenplay is gripping and stylish. Sudheer Varma direction
is decent considering it’s his debut film. SR Sekhar's editing could
have been crispier while the dialogues are neat. Production values are
standard.
Analysis
The plot is interesting and debutant
Sudheer Varma strikes with his taking, but due to the thin storyline,
the film looking dragging at most parts with 125 minutes of runtime. He
could have packaged it with few more aspects.
The first half runs with gripping
screenplay and interesting narration despite few predictable scenes.
With a decent first half with refreshing scenes and impressive visuals,
the audience would expect more from the second half. However, the pace
drops drastically in the latter half and drags a lot while the climax
fizzles out. Despite being a medium budget film, Swamy Ra Ra is
technically sound with much stylishness and music by Sunny is one of the
assets of the film. The filmmakers have put in good efforts but Swamy
Ra Ra could have been more appealing with a good pace.
