Performance:
Shri has delivered a
highly energetic performance and his screen presence is brilliant. So as
the newcomers Aditya Menon and Mona are at their best.
Mysskin has excelled
with his act as a cold blood murderer, who portrayed the role with more
act and lesser dialogues. The actor-director-producer is credible in the
climax scene.
Technical Analysis:
Mysskin proved his mettle with his
confidence towards script, despite the fact that he doesn’t cast any top
rated hero, heroine and no commercial aspects like songs.
Ilayaraja’s music is the major asset of
OnayumAttukuttiyum, while this exciting thriller mostly speaks in
darkness. Especially in some scenes there are absolutely no dialogues
only bgm and silence keep up the audiences’ anxiety.
Though many of the important scenes were
shot in real locales, cinematographer Balaji V Rangha stands out with
his camera works particularly in showing the graveyard scene and
isolated roads of Chennai.
Analysis:
Post bombshell Mugamoodi, gutsy director
is back in form with Onaayum Aattukuttiyum. Directed, acted and
produced by Mysskin’s Lone Wolf Productions banner, Onaayum
Aattukuttiyum is an edge of the seat thriller with outstanding
background scores by Maestro Ilayaraja.
Onaayum Aattukuttiyum is a fresh and
exciting tailor made thriller in dark with many emotional components
that keeps viewers hooked with the enhancing camera works of
cinematographer Balaji V Rangha.
Shri, Mysskin and the supporting cast
are major plus to Onaayum Aattukuttiyum alongside actual locations,
while length seems to be only negative. Besides thriller script and
superb night shots, Ilayaraja’s theme, darkness and silence played
supporting roles in the film.
