What happens here after between two unknown youngsters forms the crux of Vanakkam Chennai…
Performances:
Shiva is as usual and now he appears to be at regular stretch. Either his approach or recital has to be changed so that he does not get type-casted, though Shiva is convincing in the role of Ajay.
Priya Anand steals the show with her pretty act and costumes. She has given her best and excelled with her dance steps even.
Santhanam is wasted, as he was not given much scope to present, compared to his earlier films. Remaining cast mainly Rahul Ravidran and Udhayanidhi’s cameo are fine on screen.
Technical Analysis:
Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, a short filmmaker has proved her mettle to be here in Kollywood. Screenplay and filming of Vanakkam Chennai are good as well along with her choice of cast and crew.
Anirudh Ravichander has acquired hat-trick hit with Vannakam Chennai after 3 and Ethir Neechal. Not only the songs but background scores are also apt and helped in film’s success.
Richard M Nathan’s cinematography is good and shot every frame to excellence setting right mood for audiences. Especially Vanakkam Chennai songs looked colorful with his frameworks.
TS Suresh editing is ok with 136mins running time and thanks to Kiruthiga for choosing Priya Anand and Anirudh Ravichander, actual boosters.
Analysis:
Vanakkam Chennai is one more rom com in recent times shot only to entertain viewers with quite predictable script, yet made its mark with the collective efforts of movie’s team.
Kudos to Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, being a first-timer she has delivered a well directed love story with loads of fun on board. Nevertheless there are few sneak peeks that are brilliantly overpowered by the film’s unit with their collective efforts.
Final Verdict:
A complete laugh riot and clean family entertainer this festival weekend…
